The tenth annual On Cloud Nine gala was a tremendous success with almost 600 people coming together to support the students of Horizons for Youth. The Chicago History Museum was the venue as attendees participated in the festivities including a silent auction, live auction, and dancing. This year's event raised $170,000 in net profits for the students of Horizons for Youth, the equivalent of approximately 57 full year student scholarships.
In the ten years since On Cloud Nine began, the event has generated $1.5 million in profits for Horizons for Youth. As a direct result of this event, Horizons for Youth's student population has grown 155% during the past 10 years, and we have expanded our kindergarten through eighth grade programs into high school. All the while, our students have maintained their 100% high school graduation rate and 80% college attendance rate.
