Our monthly Enrichment Outings expose students to the abundant cultural resources of Chicago.

Enrichment Outings are intended to expand the world views of our students and to help them see what is possible in the realms of art, science, theatre, and civic engagement. Some examples of past Enrichment Outings include ice skating, improv classes, Chicago architecture tours, and visits to local museums.

Students attend Enrichment Outings with their Big Sibling Mentors, one Saturday per month, providing an ideal context for them to share ideas and get to know each other better. In these relationships, students go from knowing few people in their community with a college degree to being surrounded by a network of people who not only have college degrees, but are demonstrating academic, professional, and societal success.

If you are interested in becoming a Big Sibling Mentor, please fill out the volunteer application form. Our Volunteer Manager, Nick, can answer your questions at nick@horizons-for-youth.org.
