In Response to COVID-19…
On March 6, 2020, Horizons for Youth suspended all regular services at our main office located at 703 W. Monroe. Out of an abundance of caution and to maintain the safety and health of our entire Horizons for Youth community we have implemented the following measures:
- Maintain a skeleton crew at 703 W. Monroe on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
- All staff have been instructed to work remotely until further notice. If you need to contact our staff, we highly encourage you to contact them via email.
- Converted all our on-site services to virtual platforms, including mentoring, tutoring, and counseling.
Looking to Support?
During this time, our families are facing increased need due to school closures, salary reductions, and disparities in technology across our city – among other systemic barriers already placed in front of them. If you wish to become involved or support during these difficult times, please see below for how you can help our families during COVID-19.
Sunday Meal Deliveries
Help us deliver pre-cooked meals to our families on alternating Sundays! Every other Sunday, our amazing volunteers take the lead on providing meals to one of our designated program families. You can signup by clicking below or contact Miriam Glenn, Program Manager at email@example.com for additional questions.
Support Our Emergency Family Relief Fund
The current crisis has affected us all in different ways and to different degrees. If you are able to make a gift, we would be most grateful for your donation at any level.
This special fund supports our families who are especially facing an increase in food insecurity, loss of wages, or absence of household supplies. Our donate page has examples of how your gift to this fund can provide a family with a grocery gift card or a new tech tool to support with e-learning. If you are able to make a gift to this fund, please include “emergency family relief” in the comment box of your donation.
As grateful as we are for the support you provide to our students and families, please know that we are here for you as well. Together, we will get through this difficult time and emerge stronger on the other side.
